Please never feel obligated to interact with someone who is unannounced or simply soliciting. 

The aggressive agent

When an agent puts your house on the market they usually give instructions in the MLS and other marketing materials to contact them but inevitably there will be an agent that ignores the instructions and contacts the seller directly. This is unethical and rude. You've hired an agent to be your liaison and they should respect that. If this happens we recommend that you notify us immediately and not arbitrarily let them in. Your safety is our concern!.

The unscrupulous vendor

We live in a day and age of information technology. Vendors by lists and the laws allow it. Your privacy is important to us and we'll guard it diligently but be prepared. You'll be getting mail and solicitations from movers, painters, termite and pest control vendors etc. We recommend shrugging it off for your own peace of mind. 

The naive buyer

There is a buzz in the air. A new home on the market. You'll have people driving by who otherwise would not be. Also if an enthusiastic buyer comes knocking or catches you out side please refer them to your agent. Never let a stranger into your home unannounced. If you're working with us, you'll know when a potential buyer and or buyers agent will be visiting. The things you say can come back later on when in negotiations so refer their questions to your agent no matter how interested they may seem.
